Friends of TREAD ‘s appeal earlier in 2017 received a marvellous response which has recently enabled us to pay a proper wage to the managers of the three centres at Sarah, David and Hannah sites. In real terms it costs £20 per child each month to pay for all the running costs but we are grateful for ANY donation of any size. So we do need more sponsors for these very needy youngsters. Children like Kodi Charan
“He is one of the Project 200 + children in Sarah Centre, is 11 years old and in 2014 when he was 8 he lost his mother in a road accident. He is studying in class 6 and has a younger brother and sister. The living standard of Charan’s family is very poor. His father has to take care of three children and works on a low daily wage for labouring to provide two meals for the children and other everyday needs. Charan helps his father after school and day care centre. He fetches water for cooking and takes care of his brother and sister. They don’t have even the minimum standard of a hut to live in.
Charan is a good and obedient child and does well at the project and school. He likes drawing pictures and playing music. He is a good dancer and is also very interested in sports and games, playing Cricket, Foot Ball and Volley Ball and Carom Board with friends.”
